We are excited to announce to all industry stakeholders interested in advanced materials an upcoming workshop titled “Efficient, Lightweight, Sustainable Advanced Materials – Supporting EU industry meet the Green Deal targets” that will take place on 6th June 2024 in Brussels and online.
Among the showcased EU initiatives at the event will be RECREATE, presented by Gianmarco Griffini, from Politecnico di Milano, the coordinator of the RECREATE initiative.
In alignment with the ambitious goals set forth by the European Green Deal, this event aims to propel the EU industry towards a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
Why Efficient, Lightweight, Sustainable Advanced Materials?
The development and adoption of innovative, efficient, lightweight, and sustainable advanced materials/processes are imperative for the EU industry to achieve substantial reductions in carbon footprint and advance towards a circular economy. Utilising lightweight materials plays a pivotal role in attaining these targets, albeit accompanied by challenges such as recycling, developing new bio-based materials, and optimising design efficiency through the joining of dissimilar materials.
What to Expect?
The workshop convenes numerous research initiatives funded by the EC Horizon Europe framework program, addressing the challenges comprehensively. By attending, you will:
- Gain insights into the latest research actions and results in the field.
- Engage in a dialogue between the research community and industry to discern industry needs and future strategies.
- Align research & innovation priorities with forthcoming investments in the EU, solidifying the region’s position as a global front runner in sustainable industrial practices.
