RECREATE Consortium reunites in Nantes, France, for its 5th meeting on 1st and 2nd July 2024 and marks an important appearance at the European Conference for Composite Materials for Academia and Industry (ECCM21) thanks to a number of significant participations in the conference programme testifying both scientific excellence of RECREATE and its potential for industry applications.
ECCM21 is one of the World’s leading scientific and industry conferences dedicated to experts on composite materials and innovation taking place in Nantes from 2nd to 5th July 2024. Having created the possibility to leverage its presence in Nantes at the same time as several thousand composites experts from all over Europe and overseas gathered at the 21st edition of the ECCM, the exposure of the RECREATE initiative in Nantes created a number of useful synapses. In particular, this goes thanks to the intertwined involvement of several European initiatives in the session dedicated to scientific and innovation endeavours to increase the circularity of composite materials co-chaired by RECREATE’s coordinator, professor Gianmarco Griffini of the Politecnico di Milano, and professor Konstantinos Tserpes of the University of Patras. The session was titled: “Reuse, remanufacturing and recycling of composites”. Moreover, several lectures and posters presented by RECREATE partners featured in the event’s programme.
The session divided in four parts hosted all together 24 lectures, out of which there were eight of RECREATE and others deriving from EURECOMP initiative and others. The debate created new opportunities for mutual results dissemination and future collaborations.

The Consortium has reviewed its recent progress in the development of learning resources related to the technology applications aiming to improve the circularity of composites, particularly, the development of a gamification platform which is going to be applied to a digital course in a form of Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), led by GRIFO soon to be available from the learning platform of Politecnico di Milano. RECREATE partners examined the next steps of the ongoing exploitation process concerning several key exploitable results, which aim to putting into use several technologies maturing through the implementation steps of RECREATE initiative. A detailed timeframe for dissemination activities has been drafted for the remaining project period which foresees several live and online dissemination events and exploitation workshops intended to RECREATE’s end users.
